India white-ball captain Rohit Sharma has been appointed as the new Test captain ahead of the two-match series against Sri Lanka while India’s sensational bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been named as his deputy.

Rohit Sharma has already impressed everyone as he had a flying start to his white-ball captaincy. His era after being announced as permanent skipper in the limited-overs format began brilliantly. He is still to lose a game, winning three against New Zealand and now he has won five against the Windies.

Rohit Sharma’s first assignment as India’s skipper in the longest format of the game will be against Sri Lanka from February 24 to March 16.

Now fans are looking forward to seeing Rohit Sharma leading the Indian side in the longest format of the game and only time would tell how he fares in the new role.

Meanwhile, an old Tweet of Rohit Sharma has gone viral soon after he was announced the Test skipper by the BCCI. Back then in 2018, the right-handed batter, who was away from cricketing duties back then had conducted a Question and Answer session on Twitter. On being asked about the quote which describes him the best, Rohit had replied:

“Throw me to the wolves and I come back leading the pack.”
