Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s big decision to resign from India’s Test captaincy came following India’s 3-match Test series defeat against South Africa. However, the reason behind Virat Kohli’s decision to resign is still unknown to the world.

When Virat took over the captaincy duties from MS Dhoni in 2014/2015, the Indian side was at the number 7th position, but he took the Indian side to new heights. He took the Indian cricket team to the number 1 spot in the ICC Test rankings.

Virat Kohli has ended his captaincy stint of 7-years as the most successful skippers to have led the Indian cricket team, having won 40 out of 68 games. Earlier, he had stepped down as RCB’s captain in the IPL, followed by India’s T20 captaincy following the T20 World Cup 2021. Later he was removed from the ODI captaincy as well and was replaced by Rohit Sharma as India’s new white-ball captain.
