Shikhar Dhawan Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Team India’s Superfan Charulata Patel

Shikhar Dhawan, the Indian cricketer paid heartfelt tribute to Team India’s superfan Charulata Patel who passed away on January 13 aged 87. The news of her passing away was confirmed by the  Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) via their official Twitter handle.

BCCI shared the news of the death of Charulata Patel while offering condolences. Paying tribute to the superfan BCCI wrote:

“#TeamIndia‘s Superfan Charulata Patel ji will always remain in our hearts and her passion for the game will keep motivating us. May her soul rest in peace”

Soon the social media was flooded with condolence messages for the superfan of the Indian cricket. Indian cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan also took to his Twitter and paid tributes to Charulata Patel via Tweet. He also thanked her for her unconditional love and support. He wrote:

“RIP Charulata Patel Ji. Will always remember your passion for the game. Thank you for your unconditional love and support,”

Earlier, Charulata Patel won everyone’s heart with her enthusiasm and passion for the game of cricket when she was spotted cheering for Team India during the World Cup last year. She became an instant hero on social media.

Her enthusiasm even impressed Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who went to meet her during the match. Later Virat Kohli had posted a heartfelt message for the superfan thanking her for her love and support. He also went on to call her one of the most “passionate and dedicated fan”. He wrote:

Dear Charulata ji, it is so inspiring to see your love and passion for our team and I hope you enjoy the games with your family,” 

“Also would like to thank all our fans for all the love & support & especially Charulata Patel ji. She’s 87 and probably one of the most passionate & dedicated fans I’ve ever seen. Age is just a number, the passion takes you leaps & bounds. With her blessings, on to the next one,” he had tweeted.
