“How can Shahrukh Khan let Preity down?”All thanks to KL Rahul’s brilliant half-century and Shahrukh Khan’s sensational cameo Punjab Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets in yet another nail-biting thriller at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday.
With this win, Punjab Kings kept their hopes alive for making it to the playoffs. They are currently sitting at 5th position, having won 10 points from 12 matches. But despite the loss, KKR stayed at the fourth spot and their biggest positive is their net run rate.
Talking about the match, KKR was asked to bat first. KKR failed to give a solid start to their game as their star opener Shubman Gill was dismissed early in the third over. Venkatesh Iyer hit a fluent 67 while Nitish Rana produced a fiery 31 off 18 balls along with Rahul Tripathi’s 34 off 26 put KKR in a commanding position, reaching 165/7 in their given 20 overs.
For Punjab Kings, Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul gave a flying start to their team. The duo once again formed an impeccable partnership and gave an amazing performance for the opening stand.
Punjab Kings’ skipper KL Rahul played yet another amazing knock to take his team close to the finishing line. He was dismissed in the final over of the innings with Punjab still needing four off four. After having lost the wicket of KL Rahul, Shahrukh Khan made sure he churned out the required runs. Shahrukh produced an impactful 9-ball 22-run knock, including the winning six that won the match.
As soon as Shahrukh Khan smashed the winning six, fans went berserk and flooded social media with hilarious reactions to the Shahrukh Khan rescuing Preity Zinta and defeating the Shah Rukh Khan-owned team KKR.
