The fans were left surprised after the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle pulled out of the ongoing 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Chris Gayle, who is hailed as a legend in the Indian Premier League’s history, will not feature in the remaining three games of the Punjab Kings in this season.
The same was announced by the franchise late Thursday night that the 42-year old has exited the bio-bubble to recharge himself mentally before the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

For the unversed, Gayle, who was selected in the West Indies squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman, has been living in the bio-bubbles since June this year.
While the fans were left shocked, there were many who slammed Punjab Kings’ team management for not treating the legend right. Gayle has been including on and off in the playing XI of Punjab Kings in the ongoing tournament. Former cricketers and now commentators, Kevin Pietersen and Sunil Gavaskar also feel the same.
Recently, while speaking on Star Sports ahead of Punjab’s match against Kolkata, both the experts talked about the matter and expressed how Gayle wasn’t treated well by Punjab Kings’ team management. They had also previously talked about how it was not right for the Punjab Kings franchise to leave out Gayle from the team’s XI on his birthday.
Kevin Pietersen, who shares a great bond with Chris Gayle said that the Universe Boss is not getting treated well in the Punjab Kings’ environment. KP claimed that if Gayle is not happy, the team should let him do whatever he wants. He said:
“He is not being treated right in his environment. He feels like they are using him and getting rid of him, using him and getting rid of him. They didn’t play him on his birthday, cast him aside. If he is not happy, he is 42, let him do what he wants,”
Talking about the same, Sunil Gavaskar further expressed that Chris Gayle should’ve been backed by the team management of Punjab Kings despite the ups and downs he is facing. As per Gavaskar, the 42-year-old is a game-changer and can steal the game from the opposition. He said:
“A game-changer like Chris Gayle, if he is not in the team, 100 percent it’s a big loss. I think he is in and out of the team. I don’t know what the calculations are. And sure, he is over 40 and he might not be able to do it at a consistent level that he used to do. But he is a game-changer. 3 overs of Gayle storm and the game is gone from the opposition,”
