Major Neel Gave A Befitting Reply To Herschelle Gibbs On Twitter

Former South Africa international cricketer Herschelle Gibbs accused the Indian cricket board of trying to stop him from participating in the upcoming Pakistan’s inaugural ‘Kashmir Premier League (KPL)’.  The 47-year-old Gibbs plans to play for the Overseas Warriors in the six-team Kashmir Premier League, which will kickstart from August 6-17.

On Saturday, Gibbs took to his Twitter and ranted about having received a threat from the Indian board and has hit out, insisting that the BCCI had no right to bring their political agendas with Pakistan into the equation.

“Completely unnecessary of the @BCCI to bring their political agenda with Pakistan into the equation and trying to prevent me playing in the @kpl_20. Also threatening me saying they won’t allow me entry into India for any cricket related work. Ludicrous”

the tweet went viral in no time and has been flooded with reactions from the netizens on it. People on social media have called him out, pointing out that Pakistan is organizing a competition in a restive territory that belongs to India, which has been forcibly occupied by Pakistan almost since it came into being.

Among many, a Twitter user with the name ‘The Skin Doctor’, a retired army officer, also took to his Twitter and pointed out that KPL is itself a political statement. Major Neel schooled Gibbs about the political ‘agendas’ behind the tournament and backed the BCCI on their bold move. He wrote:

“KPL itself is a political statement Herschelle. By wanting to play in it, you are becoming part of a political agenda. This of course will have conse quen ces here in India. Well-done @BCCI @SGanguly99″
