LSG vs RR Match 32, IPL 2026: Who Takes It Tonight in Lucknow?

Rajasthan Royals look like the favourites for tonight’s LSG vs RR clash. They simply have more batting firepower, a dangerous pace attack led by Jofra Archer, and a solid head-to-head record with four wins in six games against the Super Giants. However, LSG will have a loud, desperate home crowd behind them, and in the IPL, desperation has a way of flipping the script when least expected. Here is a breakdown of why the Royals have the advantage and where both sides are vulnerable.

Both teams come into this game struggling for form. After a strong start with four wins, Rajasthan have hit a slump with back-to-back losses against lower-ranked teams. It’s a worrying pattern that mirrors their mid-season collapses in 2023 and 2024. Meanwhile, LSG are languishing in ninth place. With only two wins from six games and three straight defeats, neither their batting nor their bowling has shown any real consistency.

How has LSG fared so far at the Ekana?

The pitch at the Ekana Stadium isn’t doing the home side any favours. Since the start of IPL 2025, LSG have won just two of their nine matches here. That 41% home win rate is the lowest in the league for any team at their own ground. To make matters worse, LSG are the only team this season yet to cross the 200-run mark. In their two home games so far, they’ve struggled to totals of 141 and 164 while batting first.

RR’s biggest advantage is at the top of the order. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal are currently the most dangerous opening pair in the tournament. Sooryavanshi has already racked up 246 runs at a massive strike rate of 236.54, helping RR maintain a league-high powerplay run rate of 12.1. Even on a slow, gripping Lucknow surface, these two can take the game away from LSG before the power play is over.

But the Royals aren’t bulletproof, and LSG will look to exploit a shaky middle order in the LSG vs RR game. Captain Riyan Parag is in the middle of a lean patch, with three single-digit scores and a top score of just 20 in his last six innings. Ravindra Jadeja hasn’t quite looked like his usual self with the bat either, and Shimron Hetmyer has only managed 39 runs in four games. If LSG can break the opening stand early, RR’s middle order has shown it can buckle under pressure.

On the bowling side, Jofra Archer is finally looking like the match-winner of old. He’s consistently hitting 145kph and generating a sharp bounce that has troubled everyone. He has already taken a wicket with the first ball of the match three times this season. That kind of early breakthrough against a fragile LSG top order could decide the LSG vs RR game in the first few overs.

LSG’s best response lies with Prince Yadav. He’s been their standout performer with 11 wickets, and his ability to find extra bounce at the Ekana makes him their biggest threat tonight. Mohammed Shami provides the necessary experience and control, but they need more from Avesh Khan, who has been expensive across all stages of the innings without offering much pressure.

Toss decision for LSG vs RR Match 32, IPL 2026

The toss will be massive. Traditionally, the Ekana favours the chasing side because the slow surface is much easier to read once the dew kicks in or the pitch settles. The captain winning the toss in LSG vs RR will almost certainly bowl first. That scenario plays right into the hands of RR’s attack, Archer, Ravi Bishnoi, and Jadeja, more so than it does for LSG.

Will MS Dhoni Play As Impact Player In The MI vs CSK IPL 2026 El Clasico?

In the end, this match is about which team’s weakness breaks first. RR’s middle-order issues are obvious, but their top-order is the most explosive in the league. LSG are playing for survival at this point, but wanting a win and having the tools to get it are two different things. Rajasthan Royals go into this as favourites; their depth and variety make them the better-equipped side to handle the pressure in Lucknow.
