A little later, when the conditions got better, Mohammad Naim and Liton Das came to the field to resume the second innings. However, while they have started the game there seemed to be no official word at the moment on the target for the chase.

As per the sources, Bangladesh’s players were initially asked that they need to score 148 runs in 16 overs. However, after 9 balls were bowled, the umpires paused the game for confirmation with the match officials. After confirming, the officials said that the target was 171 runs in 16 overs.

Meanwhile, social media was flooded with hilarious reactions from the netizens on the bizarre incident. Among many, Jimmy Neesham, who is very active on social media, took to his Twitter and posted an epic tweet referring to the incident. He wrote: “How is it possible to start a run chase without knowing what you’re chasing? Crazy stuff. #NZvBAN,”
