Cricket Fraternity Hails R Ashwin After He Becomes The Fastest Indian To Claim 400 Tests Wickets

After team India’s rare middle-order collapse on day 2 of the ongoing pink-ball Test match, R Ashwin and Axar Patel joined hands to help team India stage a fightback at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

As a result, the England cricket team was bundled up for 81 runs. While Ashwin picked 4 wickets, on the other hand, Axar Patel picked another fifer, as they together gave a hard-time to the England cricket team.

Ravi Ashwin, who has become the backbone of the bowling attack for the Indian cricket team, not only inspired a remarkable comeback for team India but also achieved a milestone in his already glorious career.

On Thursday, as Ashwin dismissed Jofra Archer, he became the second-fastest bowler to claim 400 wickets in the longest format of the game. Before Ashwin, the first cricketer to do so is Muttiah Muralitharan. While Muralitharan achieved this milestone in 72 matches, on the other hand, Ashwin was able to do this in 77 tests.

Not just this, Ashwin is also the fourth Indian bowler to take 400 wickets in the longest format of the game. Before Ashwin, former cricketers Anil Kumble (619), Kapil Dev (434), and spin wizard Harbhajan Singh (417) have joined the 400-club in the longest format.
