Former England Spinner Monty Panesar Invites Rihanna For An Interview On Farmers’ Protest

Pop sensation Rihanna created a storm on social media after she extended her support to the ongoing farmers’ protest in Delhi.  For the unversed, the Indian farmers have been asking for a rollback of the new farm laws of the country. Recently, on January 26, the protest turned violent during the tractor parade in New Delhi and the government decided to block the internet in the nation’s capital and deployed heavy security at its borders.

Sharing the news article about the same, Rihanna took to her social media and questioned the world. She wrote:

“why aren’t we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest“

The tweet soon went viral and brought global attention to the ongoing farmers’ protest. Several international celebrities and activists including the likes of Greta Thunberg, Mia Khalifa, Amanda Cerny, and many others, took to their social media and expressed their solidarity with the protest.

Former England spinner Monty Panesar asked Rihanna to join the cricketer for an interview in order to discuss the farmers’ issues in India. He wrote:

“It would be an honour to interview you @panjabradio_ @AsianFXRadio on my show ‘The Full Monty’ this Saturday to talk about farmers issues in India #farmersrprotest #IndianFarmersRevolution2020,”

Meanwhile, following Rihanna’s tweet, several Indian celebrities and cricketers including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Akshay Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Suresh Raina, and many others, urged the citizens of the country to have faith in the government and its laws and also asked everyone to stay united at this difficult time.
