Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, recently, shared his views on MS Dhoni’s future in an exclusive interview with New Indian Express. Pathan, who is now a part of Star Sports’ commentary team said that  Dhoni has been a fantastic player for India but the selectors need to be fair to those who have been playing regularly in the last 10 months or so.

“He obviously needs to play. If he does, he should for India. He is the most amazing cricketer we have. He has been fantastic for the country. He has given so much to the world of cricket. But if he (Dhoni) is just drafted in, will it be fair for those who have been playing regularly is an important question.

Irfan Pathan also talked about KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant and how they have played consistently for India in the last 12 months or so.

“KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have been playing consistently for a year. So, this question needs to be answered by the board,” Irfan Pathan said.

Pathan was also asked about the possibility of ICC T20 World Cup and he said that the most important thing on everybody’s mind at the moment is how we can save lives.

“All organizations need to see the situation in Australia (for the T20 World Cup) every three, four weeks and then make a decision. If something has to be deferred or canceled, so be it. You cannot do anything because you need to save lives, which should be the most important thing on everybody’s mind at the moment,” the 35-year-old said in an interview with New Indian Express
