Twitterati Are Trolling Ricky Ponting After He Shared A Picture Of His Bat

Former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting is considered as one of the greatest batsmen to have ever played the game of Cricket. The Australian Cricket team achieved many milestones under his leadership, which included two of the biggest victories of 2003 and 2007 world cup. Making his debut in the year 1995, Ricky Ponting went on to become a phenomenal cricket player.
Although almost all the victories were special but the world cup win of 2003 was the most special one as it was his first ICC event as the skipper of the Australian Cricket team.

Not just as a leader, but Ricky Ponting also did exceptionally well as a batsman. He went on slam 140 in 120 balls with 8 sixes and 4 fours and buried the chances of the Indian Cricket team to win that match.
It was March 23, 17 years ago when this incredible moment took place. And 17years late a video of Ricky Ponting’s knock was shared by the Cricket Australia’s official Twitter handle. Sharing the video they wrote:
On this day 17 years ago, @RickyPonting produced one of the all-time great innings as Australia claimed the 2003 World Cup title!”

“Given we’ve all got a bit of time on our hands as we stay at home, thought I’d go through what I’ve kept from my career and share some of it with everyone on a regular basis – this is the bat I used in the 2003 World Cup final.”

The Tweet was soon flooded with reactions from cricket fans on this. The Indian cricket fans started demanding the cricketer to show them a glimpse of the spring on the bat. Well, for the unversed there was a myth or a rumor that Ponting’s bat used in the final had spring in the handle as he was able to pull off eight effortless sixes in the match.
