The Indian cricket team has been struggling with the number 4 position in the playing squad for a long time now. In limited-overs cricket, India has been experimenting way too much with the 4th spot in batting and has tried many options at this crucial batting position but none of them could offer stability.
The “number 4” debacle seems to be never-ending as just as you think, that the team has found an answer for number 4 position, new dilemmas start to pop up and spark a new debate failing to provide stability in the squad. But seems like India finally has a reliable batsman at number 4.

In the ongoing 1st of 3 ODI match series against New Zealand, middle-over batsman Shreyas Iyer gave a glimpse of his brilliance with the bat as he went on to score his maiden ODI hundred. Shreyas Iyer gave a brilliant performance and made everyone sit on the edge of their seats.
Shreyas Iyer’s powerful hundred came 16 ODI matches he played, where he crossed the 50s mark many times but couldn’t get to the hundred, until today.

His crucial and powerful knock helped the Indian cricket team post a mammoth total of 347 runs as a target for the New Zealand cricket team.
As soon as his knock came to an end, Twitter erupted with tweets praising the batsman for his brilliant performance. Popular Indian commentator and analyst, Harsha Bhogle also took to his Twitter and wrote a wonderful Tweet praising Shreyas Iyer.

However, in his Tweet, Harsha Bhogle wrote what every Indian cricket fan felt after Shreyas Iyer’s knock. Harsha claimed that with Shreyas Iyer, India’s struggle of getting a century from number 4 has finally come to an end. He wrote:
