Indian opener and vice-captain Rohit Sharma impressed one and all with his impeccable performance in the super over of the third T20I of the just-concluded five-match T20I series against New Zealand. The Indian cricket team defeated New Zealand in a thrilling super-over to seal the series by 3-0 in Hamilton with two matches remaining.
After a thrilling run-chase, the match ended up on a tie leading to a super over. There was a point when the match looked completely in favor of the New Zealand cricket team, however, Mohammed Shami’s last over spell shattered their dreams and Rohit Sharma’s masterclass in the super-over hit the last nail in the coffin.

In the super over, New Zealand had posted a total of 18 runs to win in the super over and it seemed India might lose the super-over until Rohit Sharma smashed back to back sixes and team India won the match with 20/0 in the Super Over outsmarting Kane Williamson side’s target of 18.
Earlier in the match, Rohit Sharma gave a flying start to the Indian cricket team and added 65 runs off 40 balls for his side, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes before he was dismissed with a catch-out from Tim Southe.
