CPL 2020 Fantasy Cricket Tips: Match 17, Trinbago Knight Riders vs Barbados Tridents

The CPL action resumes on Saturday after a day’s break with the table toppers Trinbago Knight Riders taking on the reigning champions Barbados Tridents. While TKR’s qualification to the playoffs is not in any sort of doubt, the Tridents need to stitch a few wins on the trot.
Jason Holder’s boys bounced back with a win against the Jamaica Tallawahs the other day and they will have to keep the momentum going to make sure they get into top 2 in the points table.
Here are our fantasy cricket tips for match 17 of CPL 2020 –

Pitch Report
It has been a two paced surface for most of the games at the Queen’s Park Oval so far, but it will be interesting to see what kind of surface they come up with for tonight’s game. It isn’t likely to be a quick surface. There will, most certainly, be something in it for the spin bowlers, but if the surface has decent carry, the batsmen will be able to play their shots on the up.
Predicted XI of both teams
Trinbago Knight Riders
Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert, Kieron Pollard (C), Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine/Tion Webster, Fawad Ahmed, Sikander Raza, Ali Khan and Khary Pierre
Barbados Tridents
Johnson Charles, Shai Hope, Corey Anderson, Jonathan Carter, Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder (C), Mitchell Santner, Ashley Nurse, Raymon Reifer, Rashid Khan and Hayden Walsh
Top Picks

Picking Johnson Charles is a no-brainer as he has probably been the most ruthless opening batsman in the entire tournament. He might not have batted for long periods of time for the Tridents, but whatever time he has spent at the crease, he has made some real impact with the bat.
Colin Munro has also struck the ball clean without scoring too many runs, but since the ball is coming off the middle of his willow, the runs will eventually come. Darren Bravo is another left-hander who has looked compact and solid in all the games and has been fairly consistent in run scoring as well.

Jason Holder has been one of the top all-round players in the ongoing CPL so far. He will get into the fantasy XI of most of the people and rightly so, as he almost guarantees a decent performance on his current form.
Kieron Pollard has been a bit scratchy with the bat, but he has started chipping in with the ball in the last couple of games and the kind of player he is, it’s only a matter of time before he starts delivering with the bat too.
Raymon Reifer and Ashley Nurse play as genuine all-rounders for the Tridents although Dream 11 lists them as bowlers. Both of them cost very low in the fantasy, but are very suitable picks as they can contribute with both bat and ball.
Captaincy pick: Johnson Charles
Vice-captaincy pick: Jason Holder
Fantasy XI: Johnson Charles, Corey Anderson, Darren Bravo, Colin Munro, Jason Holder, Mitchell Santner, Kieron Pollard, Rashid Khan, Raymon Reifer, Ashley Nurse, Fawad Ahmed
