India vs England: Ashwin and Jadeja rested for the T20I series

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja – two of India’s leading spinners have been rested for the series. Amit Mishra and Parvez Rasool have replaced the duo in the 15-man squad. Ashwin and Jadeja are India’s pillar of strength, in all three formats of the game.

After bowling restlessly in two consecutive Test series against New Zealand and England, Ashwin and Jadeja were picked for the ODI series against England just to give some match practice ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. In the 3-match ODI series, Jadeja picked up four wickets in the three games and Ashwin picked up three wickets. Jadeja picked two wickets each while Ashwin went wicketless in the first game and took 3 in the second match.
