Kuldeep Yadav became only the third Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in ODI cricket. Yadav was at his best in his 8th over, in the second ODI match against Australia, in which he took three consecutive wickets and didn’t give any run. It was the over that changed the game completely in India’s favour.
However, Kuldeep Yadav’s coach Kapil Pande is not a happy man. Deccan Chronicle reported that Pande is not happy with Virat Kohli because he feels the Indian captain should have shared the man of the match award with Kuldeep.

Virat Kohli batted brilliantly in the second ODI against Australia at Eden Gardens and scored 92 runs. It was a very good knock because the pitch in Kolkata was two-paced and the ball was holding a bit after pitching.
Considering, it was a low scoring match, Virat’s knock was rated as the man of the match performance by the jury and Kuldeep Yadav, who became the first ever Indian spinner to take a hat-trick in ODI cricket, was ignored.
Kapil Pande believes that Virat Kohli should have “encouraged” the junior by sharing the honour.
“Virat Kohli is a senior member of the team and he could have encouraged the junior players by sharing the honour,” Pande said to Deccan Chronicle. However, he was happy with Kuldeep’s performances on a pacer-friendly wicket.
Kapil Pande also spoke about Kuldeep’s performance in the second match. He said that Kuldeep’s bowling was not up to the mark in the first spell and he was all over the place with his line and length.
“The wicket (at the Eden Gardens) was new and only helping the pacers and on this wicket the hat-trick achiever’s performance was remarkable. Initially, Kuldeep’s bowling was not up to the mark. There was no proper line and length in his deliveries. I did bring this to his notice after the match when he called up and also advised him to concentrate only on proper line and length without worrying about the wickets. The wickets will come automatically,” Pande Pande said to Deccan Chronicle.
