It was a delight for the fans as Virat Kohli and his men sealed the series with a dramatic win over the West Indies by four wickets in front of the packed Barbati crowd at Cuttack. The brilliant batting display by Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur, kept everyone at the edge of their seats.
Before the match started, team India won the toss and opted to field first. West Indies’ Evin Lewis and Shai Hope kickstarted things well for their side by adding 57 runs for the first wicket. Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder became the first one to knock down the wicket of opposition by dismissing Evin Lewis. Following him, Navdeep Saini bowled a stunning yorker and sent back Roston Chase.

Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard also stood tall for West Indies and made Indian fielders run all around the ground chasing the leather. Both of them didn’t let the bowlers settle in the middle and received all the accolades from everyone.
Giving a solid reply to the chase, the Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul started things brilliantly with a 122-run partnership for the first wicket. After Rohit Sharma went back to pavilion after scoring 63 runs, Virat Kohli came and set the ground on fire. However, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Kedar Jadhav walked back in quick succession, and this could have come as a huge blow for team India.

But Virat Kohli formed a great partnership with Ravindra Jadeja and put a full stop to all the worries. India chased a mammoth of 315 runs for West Indies.
As soon as team India added another feather to their head, social media was already flooded with tweets and messages appreciating the performance of Virat led team India.

Why are some of these commentators being so arrogant??
It might come back to bite your team…. being openly so disrespectful towards the Windies bowlers ?
Therz a difference between being aggressive and disrespecting your opponents!#INDvsWI #StayHumble

Fabulous run chase by India. Among best I’ve seen in, more so as stiff target wasn’t achieved by 1 or 2 players. Rohit, Rahul, Virat, Jadeja, Thakur all made significant contributions. West Indies competed hard but India just that shade better. Well played!

“If I was to think about Kohli getting out, it would have been a lot of pressure. Instead I thought I have a set batsman at the other end.”
