They played the Australians in a warm-up game in Chennai and were blown away by the Australian batting and bowling. However, one good thing that came out of the match was the performance of youngster Washington Sundar.

Great future ahead:

Washington Sundar, from Tamil Nadu is already considered a star in the domestic circles owing to his excellent performances, both with the bat and the ball for his domestic T20 team, the Albert TUTI Parrots. His performance against the Australians show that he has a bright future ahead of him if he continues this way.

He was the highest run-getter in the Tamil Nadu Premier League and is an excellent bowler too. He proved this by getting two big wickets against the Australians.

His wickets of Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell prove that he does have special ability and his overall reading of 8-0-23-2 are an indicator that he can deliver under pressure.

Talent in abundance:

The player is a left-handed batsman while he bowls right-handed. His off-breaks were popular during the 2017 IPL as he emerged as one of the rising stars of the tournament for the RPS. His talent is causing problems for batsmen everywhere.

It won’t be long before Sundar could find himself amongst the fringes of the Indian team before making his debut altogether.

Indian cricket is going through a good phase where young spinners are pushing each other for a spot in the team. Sundar is a very exciting talent and his ability to bat will be a big plus for him.

We wish Washington Sundar all the best for his future matches.
