IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians Is Getting Trolled Left, Right And Center On Twitter

Jasprit Bumrah’s maiden five-fer in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League went in vain as Mumbai Indians were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders by 52 runs at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.

Both the teams were on the bottom of the IPL 2022 points table, however, it was Shreyas Iyer led KKR who won the game easily in the end. Kolkata Knight Riders got better off Mumbai Indians for the second time this season.

Coming out to bowl first, Mumbai were expensive inside the Powerplay overs and the spinners weren’t also as effective as they could have been Kumar Kartikeya brought the momentum for his side as he picked up a couple of wickets to get MI back into the game.

Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane were back at the top and together they added 60 runs opening stand in just 5.4 overs. While Iyer played a stunning knock of 43 runs off 24 balls, on the other hand, Rahane could not convert his start. Nitish Rana also played a crucial knock of 43 runs.

However, Jasprit Bumrah stole the show with his bowling spell as he ran through the KKR bowlers. Bumrah turned the tables for his side as ran through the KKR batters. Bumrah was brought back in for one over in the middle phase and he turned the tables for his side by dismissing the big wishes — Nitish Rana and Andre Russell. He later came back to death and picked up three more wickets to complete his maiden five-fer in IPL.

Later, coming out to bat, Mumbai Indians suffered a big blow in the starting overs as their captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring just 2 runs. Apart from Ishan Kishan no other batter contributed anything. KKR’s Pat Cummins was brilliant with the ball as took 3 wickets in one over and sealed the game for KKR.
