IPL 2022: Harsha Bhogle Hailed Yuzvendra Chahal With A Beautiful Tweet

Harsha Bhogle Hailed Yuzvendra Chahal With A Beautiful Tweet: Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal continued his largely majestic show with the ball in the IPL 2022, as he plucked out three of Punjab Kings’ top four on Saturday afternoon at the Wankhede to peg back the opposition.

In his first three overs, conceding only 17 runs on a flat surface, Chahal had dismissed Jonny Bairstow, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal, before being called upon to bowl one over in the death, the 18th, where Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone took 11 runs off the leggie.

Renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle came up with a special tweet lauding Yuzvendra Chahal for his terrific match-turning performances in the middle-overs this season for the Royals.

Chahal, the current Purple Cap holder, has been imposing in the middle phase (overs 7-16)of the innings: of his 22 wickets, 17 have come in the middle-overs which is the joint-most in this phase with Kuldeep Yadav, however, Chahal’s average and economy in this period have been better than the KKR chinaman.

Bhogle stressed the importance of having a wicket-taking threat in the middle-overs.

“Enjoying watching Chahal bowl…..An attacking, wicket-taking bowler in the middle overs is worth his weight in gold,” Harsha Bhogle tweeted.

Here, check out the commentator’s tweet:

Chahal is currently the leading wicket-taker of the IPL 2022, with 22 scalps to his name in 11 outings. His bowling average of 14.45 and economy of 7.25 are amongst the best in the tournament.

A four-wicket haul against the deep batting line-up of Lucknow Super Giants, a five-wicket haul against the aggressive Kolkata Knight Riders, a brace against his former Royal Challengers Bangalore, and now a three-fer versus the gung-ho batting approach of Punjab Kings – Chahal has got everyone just applauding his consistency and skillset.

On the surfaces where no score is safe, Yuzvendra Chahal has been the key differential for Rajasthan Royals’ upper table position. His performances have further suggested how India missed him at the T20 World Cup last year, and the enormity of RCB’s shocking decisison to not retain him.
