With this defeat, Mumbai Indians registered an unwanted record as they became the first team in the IPL history to have lost 8 games on the trot in a season.
Mumbai Indians, which is the most successful IPL franchise is witnessing its worst-ever run in the history of IPL and it won’t be wrong to say that the team is looking nothing like the champions they have been in the tournament. While many have put the blame on a lackluster batting display, on the other hand, many are blaming the auction strategy of the five-time champions.
Meanwhile, amidst all this, Mumbai’s captain Rohit Sharma took to his Twitter and penned a heartfelt note for his fans. In his Tweet, Rohit expressed how the team hasn’t put its best foot forward in the tournament. He also expressed gratitude to the fans and well-wishers who have shown their faith and support to the team so far. Rohit wrote:
“We haven’t put our best foot forward in this tournament but that happens, many sporting giants have gone through this phase but I love this team and it’s environment. Also want to appreciate our well wishers who’ve shown faith and undying loyalty to this team so far @mipaltan”
