Things didn’t go down the way Hardik Pandya and his squad at Gujarat Titans would have liked on Monday as they lost the game by eight wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The defeat also ended Gujarat Titans’ winning streak of four games in the ongoing IPL 2022.
As the game kickstarted, Gujarat Titans kicked off with a flying start in the first over, however, the team received an early blow as Shubman Gill was dismissed on the third over. Gujarat Titans suffered a mini-collapse as their top-order was dismissed within the first 10 overs. However, for the Titans, Hardik played the perfect captain’s knock as he hit 50* off 42 balls to help Gujarat post 162 for seven.
Pandya played a crucial knock of 50* (42) and a quick 35 (21) by Abhinav Manohar helped Gujarat Titans in posting 162/7 on the board. However, the team couldn’t defend the target.
A top-knock from Kane Williamson 57 (46). Nicholas Pooran (34 off 18) and Aiden Markram (12 off 8) helped SunRisers Hyderabad win the game.
