Mayank Agarwal Gets A Huge Hike: When it comes to players that compete in the Indian Premier League (IPL), it doesn’t take long for their fortunes to turn for the better. One of the most essential characteristics of the Indian Twenty20 league is its ability to alter the course of an individual’s life. For example, if a player performs well throughout a season, he may be eligible for a wage increase in the next season.

Mayank Agarwal’s IPL Salary Has Increased By 1100%

Over the years, there have been several instances of this kind of behaviour. A glance at the newly disclosed retention list of all IPL teams reveals that a few players have received compensation increases across all teams, which is consistent across all franchises. As a result, when one has a good season, something like this occurs.

Mayank Agarwal has been a steady performer for the Punajb Kings

Astonishingly, for some players, their pay has increased by a factor of many times. The rise in their salaries is a reward for their efforts, and it also represents a leap of faith in which their clubs have placed their futures in their hands.

One such name is Mayank Agarwal. Mayank Agarwal would be a very content person. A long way has been travelled by the Karnataka kid, who has gone from being purchased by the Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab) for INR 1 crore in 2018 to being retained by the same franchise for INR 12 crores for IPL 2022.

The right-handed hitter has been outstanding for the Punjab-based team this season. He has been their second-best batsman behind KL Rahul since the beginning of 2018. Given the absence of his long-time buddy and previous captain from the team, there is a strong possibility that he may be chosen as the new skipper of PBKS as well.

So far in the IPL, the 30-year-old has amassed 2135 runs in 100 matches. When playing in the hardest T20 league, his batting average and strike rate are 23.46 and 135.73, respectively.

He has also amassed a total of 11 half-centuries and one century. Consequently, the Punjab Kings supporters will have a lot of high expectations from him going forward. Now, it remains to be seen if Mayank Agarwal can step up with added pressure and deliver, after the Punajb Kings have released KL Rahul from their squad. Only time will tell that.
