Lasith Malinga took his 300th wicket in One Day International (ODI) cricket in the fourth match of the ongoing ODI series against India. It was not a good day on the field for Lankan bowlers as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli formed a huge partnership and made them look very ordinary.

But, Lasith Malinga will remember this match for a very long time because Virat Kohli became his 300th wicket in ODI cricket. In the last couple of years, Lasith Malinga has had some fitness issues and hasn’t been at his best on the field. He doesn’t have the same pace which he used to and many believe that he has reached the last stage of his international career.

When Lasith Malinga picked his 300th wicket, Rohit Sharma went and gave a big hug to him. It was a great ‘spirit of cricket’ moment as Rohit congratulated Maling after Virat Kohli’s wicket. Malinga and Rohit have played a lot of cricketer together in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians and we could see there friendship Rohit hugged Malinga and congratulated him on his 300th ODI wicket.

We often say that Indian Premier League has played a great role in bringing cricketers from across together and Rohit and Malinga’s hug is the best example of that. Kohli’s wicket was a big moment in the game but Rohit still managed to keep it aside and display a great ‘spirit of cricket’ moment. You can watch it here:
