5 Most Expensive Uncapped Players In The History Of IPL

Though there were significant speculations about the fact that amongst the uncapped Indians if someone could go a long mile, it was suppose to be Krishnappa Gowtham. However, no one expected that he would turn out to be the most expensive uncapped buy ever in the history of IPL.

Shattering the previous record of Krunal Pandya who went for a price of Rs 8.8 crores to Mumbai Indians and justified the price with a few rippling performances with both the bat and the ball.

Gowtham is an impressive bowling all-rounder who had his breakthrough season in 2018 when he went on to pick 11 wickets. He also managed to garner 126 runs that saw him smashing a career best of 33.

Despite being plagued by injuries in the last couple of seasons, Gowtham managed to impress the cricketing canons of India. To add to his feathers he left a significant mark in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

At a price of Rs 9.25 crore, Gowtham made his entrance into the Chennai squad, giving them an additional depth in the batting alongside his prized bowling.

He started drawing interest from KKR initially and to contest Kolkata, Sunrisers Hyderabad kept on fighting till the end of the line until Chennai stepped in the fray. After a decent battle, the Yellow Army made it big to make the medium pacer come home.

With Jadeja and Sam Curran in the side, Chennai will have a good deal of all-round show from all corners that can make things a bit easier for the uncapped Gowtham.
