Iceland Cricket Trolled Chris Gayle In A Very Insulting Way On Twitter

The Universe Boss, Chris Gayle went a little emotional after the journey of KXIP in the ongoing IPL 2020 came to an end after they lost the game to Chennai Super Kings in a do-or-die clash on Sunday.  KXIP became the second team to get knocked out after a 9-wicket thrashing defeat.

Kings XI Punjab won 6 games in a row before losing their last two games and Gayle played a crucial part in all the games. Chris Gayle lit up IPL 2020 with his batting prowess while making sure that his team was in the contention of playoffs. However, 2020 wasn’t the year for KXIP.

On Monday, after IPL 2020 came to an end for Chris Gayle and his franchise KXIP, he took to his Twitter and posted a heartfelt tweet. In his tweet, he urged his fans to watch the remaining matches of the season despite KXIP getting knocked out of IPL 2020. He wrote:

“Plz continue to watch IPL even though my season has come to an end. Thank you #UniverseBoss,”

The tweet was soon flooded with amazing reactions from the fans on it. While there were many who thanked Chris Gayle for all the memories he gave in IPL 2020, on the other hand, there were many who misinterpreted his tweet and thought that the cricketer is retiring from IPL.

Iceland Cricket’s official Twitter handle also joined the bandwagon and replied to the T20 legend. In their tweet, Iceland Cricket brutally trolled Gayle by taking a dig at his tweet for undermining the IPL as well as other players who are still fighting for the trophy. Iceland Cricket wrote:

Dear India. I know it’s hard, but please at least try and show an interest in massively popular and successful tournament you’ve created, even though I am not playing in it this week. There are probably some other players worth watching. Maybe,”

Talking about the ongoing IPL, three teams have already qualified for the playoffs – Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad are still in the race for the playoffs.
