Things are not going in favor of Rishabh Pant, the young wicketkeeper of India. He is currently at the target of the trollers and critics because of his inconsistent performances.

Some time ago, Rishabh Pant was making news for all the right reasons. He had impressed one and all with his performances. However, ever since the debacle of the Indian cricket team in the world cup, earlier this year, the cricketer is being looked down upon as the replacement of the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.

The selectors are picking him in every series in order to offer him an opportunity to make him gain some experience before the upcoming World Cup 2020 but he has failed on the majority of occasions.

Rishabh Pant’s miseries increased due to his goof-ups behind the stumps in the ongoing series against Bangladesh. Trollers and cricket pundits are leaving no stone unturned to criticize his performance and selectors for picking him up in the squad.

Amidst all the criticism, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has come out in support of the youngster. On Friday, the former skipper called Rishabh Pant a “superb player” and said that the player needs some time to mature in the game. He said:

“He’s a superb player. Give Rishabh Pant time, he will be fine,”

He added:

“He will mature slowly, you have to give him time. India played really well last night,”
