Indian cricket is going through a good phase in which young players are pushing each other for spots in the team. Presently, there is a problem a plenty in Indian cricket and Virat Kohli is managing it well.
India have a big bunch of young cricketers who have done well at the domestic level and now are eager to make a mark at the big stage. Virat Kohli and India’s catching staff have followed a good rotating policy in which they have tried different combinations to test the bench strength.
However, in this post, we aren’t going to discuss problem that Indian cricket is facing, good or bad. It is about T20 players who are the backbone of Team India in the shortest format of the game.
1) Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli averages more in T20Is than Test cricket. However, this doesn’t mean that he is a lesser Test cricketer. Virat’s biggest strength is to read the game and build his innings accordingly. In T20 cricket, Virat likes to open but he hasn’t done that consistently in international cricket. In the last two seasons of IPL, Virat has opened the batting for Royal Challengers Bangalore and he would like to do in T20Is as well because if he gets going at the top, it becomes easier for all other batsmen to follow.
2) Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is, arguably, the most improved Indian fast bowler in the last 12 months or so. He is a very hard working cricket and has mastered the art of bowling unplayable yorkers in death overs of the innings. He is a very important member of Indian cricket team in T20Is because having a bowler who can bowl yorkers consistently in the last 4 overs of the innings and take wickets, is a big asset for any team in T2O cricket.
3) Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya is a rising star of Indian cricket. He is a quality cricketer who can contribute in all three departments of the game. In T20 cricket, Pandya, with his aggressive batting and useful bowling is a big asset for India. He is also a brilliant fielder and fielding holds utmost importance in T20 cricket.
4) Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. He has won the most number of trophies as captain. And, not to forget, he is one of the destructive batsmen at the top of order in limited overs cricket. His ability to adjust his game and bat at any position is a big asset in T20 cricket.
5) Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja is a very useful cricketer who is an asset for any team in limited overs cricket, in all three departments of the game. Jadeja is a miser when it comes to giving runs in the middle overs and he also has the ability to swing his bat and score some quick runs down the order. And, we all know about his fielding. Jadeja is, arguably, the best fielder in world cricket.
