England Make Three Big Changes In Their Squad

England, the winning the first two matches of the ongoing 3-match series against South Africa, have decided to rest three players to avoid any injury concern. England, who are hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, are being hailed as pre-tournament favourites and their performance in the first two matches of the ongoing series have done no harm to their reputation.

England have injury worries over three key players just days before the start of the all important ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Three of their all-rounders Ben Stokes Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes have been ruled out of the final one-day international against South Africa.

These three will be replaced by Middlesex pair Toby Roland Jones and Steven Finn along with Hampshire spinner Liam Dawson.

Injury worries

Moeen Ali

In the last couple of years, Ali has worked very hard on his game and established himself as one of the key members of England’s squad. It is being reported that Ali has a groin strain and needs to be rested before the start of the Champions Trophy 2017.

Chris Woakes

Woakes impressed one and all with his all-round display of cricket in the recently concluded tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2017). It is being reported that Woakes has picked up a thigh injury and he needs some rest before the start of the Champions Trophy 2017.

Ben Stokes

Stokes is arguably the best all-rounder in world cricket, across all three formats of the game. He stole the show in IPL 2017 and scored a brilliant match-winning hundred against South Africa in the second ODI of the ongoing series. It is being reported that Stokes will undergo another scan on his left knee.

England expect Ali, Woakes and Stokes to be fit for Thursday’s Champions Trophy match against Bangladesh at the Oval. However, it needs to be seen how quickly these 3 all-rounders recover because they will play a very big role for England in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
