India will take on Bangladesh for one-off Test in Hyderabad on Thursday. Bangladesh are a much improved side from what they were when they toured India the last time and their fans would be hoping for a good performance from them. India, on the other hand, will start as the firm favourites and look to dominate Bangla Tigers and prove to the world that why they are the number 1 Test team in the world.
Ahead of the Test match, India’s coach Anil Kumble and captain Virat Kohli have made it clear that Ajinkya Rahane is a very important member of the team and he will feature in the playing XI ahead of Karun Nair, who became only the second Indian batsman after Virender Sehwag to score 300 runs in single innings of a Test match.
“One game does not overshadow two years of hardwork from another player. That’s my point-of-view. You have to understand what Jinx has done for this team. He is probably the most soild batsman in this form of the game,” Virat Kohli said in a press-conference on the eve of India’s Test match against Bangladesh in Hyderabad.
“What Karun did was remarkable. As I said, you cannot overlook two years of hard work from Ajinkya. He walks back into the team whenever he is fit,” Kohli said.
Virat Kohli has always preferred playing with 6 batsmen and five bowlers and this means that Karun Nair might have to sit on the bench for the one-off Test against Bangladesh in Hyderabad and Ajinkya Rahane will make his way back into the playing XI after recovering from an injury.
