On Friday, August 25th, Virat Kohli took everyone by a little surprise with his latest social media post. No this wasn’t any advertisement of brand endorsement post – but one for his former India skipper and with whom he had some great partnerships in the blue colours: MS Dhoni.
“Being this man’s trusted deputy was the most enjoyable and exciting period in my career. Our partnerships would always be special to me forever. 7+18,” Kohli added the caption.
Here is the post from Kohli:

There was no occasion which demanded such an emotional post from Kohli about Dhoni. But the fans kept wondering why Kohli indeed posted it. Kohli is currently in Dubai for the Asia Cup 2022.

One fan, Nikhil, by the Twitter handle of @CricCrazyNIKS, gave a cheeky reply to other fans’ dilemma. He explained that we shouldn’t dive too much into the reason for the post – as it seems merely just that the combination of the numbers of Kohli and Dhoni’s jerseys, 7 and 18, is 25 and Kohli would have posted it just after he’d realise the date was 25th of August.
“Date dekha, add kiya , post kiya. Itna mat socho sab,” the fan remarked.

Here are some of the other reactions:
“Or may should have remembered some memories today in the practice,” a fan wrote.
Yeah, yeah. Might be a moment, memory, conversation in Asia Cup maybe. Nothing else I feel.

No niks there is a crazy calculation behind this.
7+18= 25 (yesterday)
The month is August = 8
Now if you ignore 8 it becomes 71. Means that is coming.
and if you have noticed actually 7 is MS’s birthday, birth month jersey no. and, whereas 18 is Virat’s jersey no.— Arghya7

Fans expect Virat Kohli to return to form in Asia Cup 2022
Virat Kohli’s century drought has now extended to over 1000 days. But it is his recent form that’s is giving jitters to the fans who are now concerned: in the IPL 2022, the RCB batsman managed an ordinary average of 22 and strike rate of 115 – followed by a dismal England tour, where Kohli couldn’t even score more than 20 in any of his 6 innings.
After the England tour, Kohli was on a break of over a month, taking a rest from the West Indies and Zimbabwe series, and will directly return in the Asia Cup 2022.
India’s first match of the Asia Cup 2022 is against Pakistan on Sunday, August 28, in Dubai.
Will India drop Virat Kohli from their T20I side?
Admit it or not, Kohli is no more invincible and indispensable to India’s T20I team, and given his horrendous show in England, many experts and fans even claimed for him to be dropped from eleven.
However, the management is not going to jump the ship in panic and, one would assume, only make their decision after the Asia Cup 2022, or even give Kohli a longer rope extending into the home T20I series against South Africa and Australia prior to the T20 World Cup 2022.
