Who Are The Real Owners Of Rajasthan Royals And How Much They Earn

RR and its owners: Despite the hopes of Rajasthan being snuffed out mercilessly by an aggressive KKR, they fought till the very end of the campaign despite missing out on the best of their players with their three English players pulling out of the tournament.

The entire team came apart at the seams with a drastic outing as they lacked proper replacements and the ones who were chosen to plug the gaps were woeful, to say the least.

However, when the tournament made its inception, it was the RR who ran roughshod over all other teams to emerge as the maiden champions of the glittering T20 fest.

Sadly, for the Royals, the proceedings have been all over the place ever since the triumph in the first year. We can probably keep on penning countless essays about what exactly didn’t make them click. However, we have kept this story for the soaring owner of Rajasthan Royals who have managed to keep the Halla Bol going despite hardly any sound from the team at all.

The shares of Rajasthan Royals are shared between four different owners. The first one being Amisha Hathiramani’s Tresco International Ltd that owns 44.2 percent shares in the Royals side. Initially, it was her father, Suresh Chellaram who used to be the owner and now the legacy has been passed onto his daughter.

Manoj Badale is the second owner of the Royals as the business mogul owns a staggering 32.4 percent stake in the inaugural champions, thanks to his company called Emerging Media.

The third owner of the franchise is Lachlan Murdoch who is an Australian-British-American business tycoon and shares 11.7 percent stakes in the company. It is his Blue Water Estate Ltd that is the formal owner of the franchise.

The fourth owner of the franchise needs no separate introduction as he was the man who led Rajasthan in the initial edition of the tournament to the franchise’s solitary triumph, Shane Warne. He owns a 3 percent share in the team through his popular undergarment brand called the “Spinners”.

Going by the reports of Sports.info, Rajasthan Royals was estimated at Rs 327 crores in 2019 which has further dropped to Rs 263 crores in 2021. The team was bought by Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra who managed to bag the outfit at the lowest price amongst their counterparts with the amount being Rs 67 million.
