Shoaib Akhtar Slammed Afghan Fans For Creating Ruckus After Team’s Loss against Pak

Afghanistan cricket team suffered a 1-wicket defeat against Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2022 match on Wednesday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. It was a thrilling contest that could have gone either way, however, in the end, the Babar Azam-side took the game away, and with the help of two back-to-back sixes by Naseem Shah in the final over, Pakistan sealed the game with a magical way.

After Pakistan’s win against Afghanistan in the Super-4 clash at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, an ugly controversy took place at the stadium, where the Afghanistan fans, who were so upset with their team’s defeat, that they started throwing chairs at Pakistan fans. 

 A few of the fans from Afghanistan were seen hitting Pakistani cricket team fans. The video of the brawl has been going viral on the internet and is all over social media. 

Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar took to his social media and expressed his displeasure over the ugly brawl between the fans. In his Tweet, he condemned the antics of the Afghan fans and slammed the people involved in it. He wrote:

“This is what Afghan fans are doing. This is what they’ve done in the past multiple times. This is a game and it’s supposed to be played and taken in the right spirit. @ShafiqStanikzai, your crowd & your players both need to learn a few things if you guys want to grow in the sport.”

While the reason of the brawl is still not known, in a few videos, Pakistani fans can be seen teasing Afghan fans and that could be the probable reasons behind the massive fight that took place at the stadium. Here, watch one such video:

Talking about the match scenarios, with this stellar win, Pakistan confirmed their place in the summit clash of the ongoing tournament and kicked the Afghans out of the contest, who suffered a second defeat in the Super-4 stage. In fact, Pakistan’s win has also closed the doors for India to qualify for the summit clash. India’s final game against Afghanistan will be a dead rubber as two finalists have already been decided.
