VIDEO: Top 3 Funniest Bloopers Of IPL 2019

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is unarguably the most followed, famous, richest, and biggest T20 cricket league in the world, where most of the best T20 players combine to give a thrilling, two-month spectacle

15 seasons of the IPL have been played, with excitement for the next even more.

The 2019 IPL was amongst the most memorable one, for its finale had the two most successful IPL teams – Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings– pitted against each other in the grand final with Rohit Sharma’s team winning the final by only 1 run.

During the course of that epic 2019 IPL season, there were a few moments that had the fans and even the commentators in splits.

Here are 3 funniest moments from the 2019 IPL season:

Chris Gayle ‘s funny footwork while fielding!

During a game between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, SRH’s batter Kane Williamson attempted an inside-out shot to spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Williamson didn’t connect it properly but the ball, after taking a thick outside edge, flew over short thirdman, where Chris Gayle, the slowest fielder in the Punjab team, was positioned.

Gayle, in his late 30s, ran after the ball with full force and even got close to the ball. But instead of going down and using his hands to pick up the ball, Gayle decided to use some footwork, which turned out not a good decision from the lanky West Indian, as he even spurned the ball on the boundary with his shoes!

Commentator Simon Doull and his colleagues couldn’t stop laughing at it.

Rashid Khan ‘s hilarious jump!

Rashid Khan is one of the best fielders in the world, and, when not bowling, he’s often seen fielding at near the boundary line and making acrobatic saves.

On this occasion, however, Rashid couldn’t spot the ball properly at deep extra cover position when Punjab batter Mayank Agarwal played a lofted inside-out stroke.

The ball bounced in front of Rashid, who was, however, shielding his face from the stadium lights that seemed to disturb his eyes. By the time Rashid realised that the ball is near him, the ball had bounced over him and went for four.

The Afghanistan leg-spinner had a sheepish look on his face while Kane Williamson looked disappointed and surprised by Rashid’s mids-fielding, and surprised were also the commentators, all of whom had a good chuckle at it.

Kieron Pollard’s epic tumble

In this incident, an SRH batter played a good-looking pull shot to a short ball from the Mumbai Indians fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Kieron Pollard, positioned at mid-on, ran after the ball that was racing toward the mid-wicket fence.

Similar to Chris Gayle, when Pollard reached near the ball, instead of going down and using his hands, the West Indian attempted to use his legs to stop the ball from going to the boundary.

However, Pollard was in much greater running momemtum than Gayle. And while he stopped the ball, Pollard jumped over the boundary and over the advertisement board and went beyond it!

Skipper Rohit Sharma perhaps didn’t seem pleased with Pollard’s effort, or that MI had conceded a boundary.

The commentators, though, burst into laughter as Pollard tumbled across the boundary.
