From rags to riches! Indian cricketer, Rinku Singh‘s journey has been nothing less than an inspiration. The star player is currently gearing up for the upcoming 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League where he will be plying his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Rinku made his List A cricket debut for UP in 2014 and at that time, when he was only 16. His First-class debut came two years later for UP in November 2016. was picked up in 2017 for the first time by Kings XI Punjab in IPL for INR 10 lakh. In 2018, he was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 80 lakh, which was 4 times more than his base price of INR 20 lakh. He continues to play for the SRK side to date.

Not many are aware of the fact that Rinku Singh has also faced a BCCI ban as well. Yes, you read that right. In 2019, he was banned for 3 months by the BCCI as he played in a foreign league, not knowing that BCCI does not allow its cricketers to play in any league outside India.

Singh was the sole breadwinner of the family. Thus, when he was injured, his family went through a really tough time. His father stopped eating. In an interview, he had revealed:

I wasn’t happy staying away from cricket for so long. My father didn’t eat for 2-3 days. I told him it’s just an injury and it’s part of cricket. I’m the sole breadwinner of my life and when such things happen, it is bound to be worrisome,”

While KKR misfired in the previous edition of the IPL, Rinku impressed all with his performance. He featured at No.5 or below, with his best performance coming in a match-winning 42 not out from 23 balls against Rajasthan Royals.

KKR acquired Rinku Singh consistently for the past 4 years at a constant price of IC 80 lakhs/$96.8k. In IPL 2022 auction, he was gain picked by the Knight Riders but at a much lower price. He was acquired for IC 55 lakhs. No such clear description is found on the internet about his net worth, but according to some reports, he has an estimated net worth of around IC 3.2 crores.
