On April 2 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians will take on the runner-up Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rohit Sharma, the captain, would like nothing more than to make a statement that he is not finished with the shortest format. MI Skipper struggled mightily in the IPL 2022, managing only 268 runs across 14 games.

RCB’s home record isn’t very impressive. Virat Kohli, the batter who has dominated the last two seasons, would be the focus of attention. Michael Bracewell, an all-rounder who can bat, bowl, pitch, and even be used as a floater, could be the deciding factor for RCB.

Rohit Sharma is fit & is 100 per cent ready to go – Mark Boucher

At the press conference, he was overheard praising Rohit Sharma. Mark confirmed that Rohit would play in the match against RCB, said that he has trained, and explained why he was absent from the IPL captains’ photo shoot.

“Yes, Rohit is fit. He has trained the last two days and is 100 per cent ready to go. I think he didn’t feel particularly well that morning and just as a precaution, we told him to stay at home. There are a lot of photo shoots the boys have had to do. He’s not had a lot of time to himself so we thought it was better,” Boucher Said.

We are very happy with Jofra Archer’s progression- Mark Boucher

Jofra Archer will be in the lineup for the match against RCB, as stated by Boucher. As for Jofra Archer, Boucher is pleased with his progress in training. Mark was optimistic about the team’s chances in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2023, but he did note the importance of a strong start.

“Jofra Archer is good, he is 100 per cent ready for tomorrow. He didn’t train today, it was an optional training session. He felt that he was ready to put the spikes on tomorrow. We are very happy with his progression since he has been with us. He’ll be playing tomorrow,” Boucher said.

“I can’t comment too much about last year I wasn’t there. But we have spoken about it, some new talents in the team, new energy, some guys who have done really well in the previous IPLs. They understand that last year we didn’t have a good season but things can change very quickly, energies have been good, we are in a good space,” he stated.

“If we get off to good start great, if we don’t we’ll definitely not panic. The IPL is not won in April or March, it’s won in May. Hopefully, we can get a good start and get some momentum,” he added
