“Where Is Hitman?” – Rohit Sharma Goes Missing From IPL 2023 Captains’s Photoshoot

All of the captains of the 2023 Indian Premier League teams met in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium the night before the first game of the season to take part in a special picture with the trophy. Fans on social media were most concerned over Mumbai Indians‘ lack of captain Rohit Sharma.

Defending champions Gujarat Titans take face MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings in a must-see matchup at Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday (March 31) to kick off the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) with a magnificent opening ceremony.

The captains met in Ahmedabad the night before the competition began to pose with the coveted trophy they will be trying to win. Fans noticed there was one Mumbai Indians (MI) player missing from the photo, and that was skipper Rohit Sharma.

Fans of both MI and their rivals have been making light of Rohit’s absence on social media, with some joking that MI have given up while others predicting that the Indian skipper would be seen directly with the trophy at the end of the competition.

Participating players included MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings), Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans), Shikhar Dhawan (Punjab Kings), Nitish Rana (Kolkata Knight Riders), KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Faf Du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bangalore), and David Warner (Delhi Capitals).

Injuries to Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer have left both the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) without their captaincy. While SRH’s normal captain, Aiden Markram, was away on international service, Bhuvneshwar captained the team in Markram’s absence. Dhawan is taking the helm of the Punjab Kings for the first time.

IPL 2023

There has been no announcement from MI or the IPL on Rohit’s absence. Sunday, April 2nd, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Rohit and MI will kick off their season against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
