KL Rahul Salutes Yashasvi Jaiswal For Breaking His Record

Rajasthan Royals’ star player Yashasvi Jaiswal scripted history on Wednesday (May 11th) in a game against Kolkata Knight Riders as he broke the record of the fastest half-century in the history of the Indian Premier League. Jaiswal reached the milestone in just 13 balls and left everyone awestruck with his batting heroics.

Jaiswal, who is in red-hot form for the Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing season, continued his purple patch. He gave a flying start to Rajasthan Royals in the chase to the target of 150 runs and smashed Nitish Rana all around the ground. He smashed the KKR skipper for back-to-back sixes on the first two balls. He smashed three boundaries on the next four balls and smashed a total of 26 runs in the opening over.

The star opener then finished the second over with a boundary and a six. In the 3rd over, Jaiswal smashed three back-to-back boundaries off Shardul Thakur’s bowling and reached the 50-run mark with a single on the fourth ball.

With this knock, he broke the 5-year-old record of KL Rahul. For the unversed, The record for the fastest half-century in the Indian Premier League was held by KL Rahul, who reached the fifty off just 14 balls. Rahul achieved the milestone on his debut match for Punjab Kings (then known as Kings XI Punjab) in IPL 2018.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal impressed one and all with his batting performance. Social media is buzzing with amazing reactions from the fans to Jaiswal’s knock. Even cricketers couldn’t hold themselves and showered praise on the young RR opener.

“Wow, this is some of the best batting I’ve seen in a while. What a talent @yashasvijaiswal28,” Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli hailed Yashasvi on his Instagram story.

Michael Vaughan also hailed Yashasvi and he even went on to say that Jaiswal is so good that he should be on the plane to London for the WTC Final as Rahuls’ replacement. He wrote:

“I would have selected @ybj_19 as KL Rahuls replacement for the World Test championship final … He is that good .. he is going to be a superstar .. #India”

Indian opener KL Rahul, whose record was broken, also took to his Twitter and hailed the brilliant performance of Jaiswal by doffing his head to the young batter.
