The just-concluded Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) match turned out to be a complete entertainer with the Wankhede Stadium witnessing a heavy shower of fours and sixes. While Mumbai Indians won the game by 27 runs, however, it was the performance of Guajrat Titans’ Rashid Khan that stole the show.
Rashid Khan Played Like A Lone Wolf
Rashid Khan bowled an incredible spell that saw him take four wickets and give away only 30 runs, despite other bowlers bowling expensive spells. Rashid dismissed Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, Nehal Wadhera, and Tim David from his spell.
With this, the Afghanistan player also surpassed Rajasthan Royals’ Yuzvendra Chahal to earn the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets in the ongoing competition.
Rashid now has 23 wickets in 12 games in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.
Later, while chasing the target of 218 runs, Khan brought his bowling form into his batting and stole the show with his batting heroics. He gave Mumbai Indians a late scare with his stunning knock of 21-ball fifty.
He played a blockbuster knock of 79 runs off 32 balls, smashing 3 fours and 10 sixes. Rashid played like a lone wolf and gave an all-around show, however, his efforts went in vain as Gujarat Titans lost the game by 27 runs.

Meanwhile, after the game, GT captain Hardik Pandya heaped praise on his teammate, saying only Rashid turned up from their side. He said:
“Felt like only Rashid Khan turned up from our team, batted and bowled incredibly well,”
He added: “We don’t have to try much, as a group overall we weren’t there in any department. Didn’t have clear plans, bowlers didn’t execute. I felt we gave 25 runs extra. We were far from winning this game but because of Rashid, we ensured there wasn’t a big dent to our NRR,”
