Suryakumar Yadav scripted another memorable T20 knock and slammed his maiden IPL century, after 11 years in the tournament and 134 innings.
SKY produced a masterclass of sensational 360-degree range hitting and timing to pummel 103* runs off 49 balls against a strong bowling attack of the table-toppers and defending champions Gujarat Titans. In his incredible knock, SKY had 6 jaw-dropping sixes and 11 startling fours. His knock elevated MI’s total to 218, in a game which if they win, would bring them to the third position in the points table and one step closer to the playoffs.
Seeing these pyrotechnics from the number 1 T20I batsman in the world, Twitter blew up with countless tweets of praise and astonishment on SKY. One of the tweets came from Ian Bishop, who hailed SKY as the most unique T20 player of all time.
While fans have been comparingSKY with AB de Villiers courtesy of his 360-degree range, the styles of both the players is different. Hence, Ian Bishop, one of the best commentators and an astute reader of the game, labelled SKY’s T20 gameplay as “unprecedented”.
“Suryakumar Yadav batting in t20 cricket is unprecedented,” Bishop tweeted after Suryakumar Yadav’s sensational century.
