Video: David Miller Showed His ‘Killer’ Power Against Mumbai

“If it’s in the arc, it’s out of the park.” This mantra of David Miller was very true today as he spanked the Mumbai Indians‘ bowlers all around the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. Known as ‘Killer Miller’, the left-handed Gujarat Titans batsman smoked 4 sky-high sixes in his entertaining stay of 46 runs off only 22 balls.

David Miller was involved in a match-turning, momentum-shifting partnership of 71 (35) with the young, aggressive Abhinav Manohar before another solid stand of 33 (10) with Rahul Tewatia that gave Gujarat Titans the late flourish and the hosts ended up with a massive total of 207.

David Miller’s sixes were simply sensational – he hit four of them and all to different corners of the ground, showcasing his elite range and ability to hit a delivery of varying lengths and lines over the boundary line.

To left-arm leg-spinner Kumar Kartikeya, to a full ball, David Miller smashed an 89-m six over long-on. To Cam Green, who bowled around the wicket, the South African dispatched him back over his head. To a short, fast, quick ball from Riley Meredith, the left-hander spanked him with a pull that just evaded the fielder, and finally, on the next ball to Meredith again, David Miller clobbered him over covers for his fourth six of the evening.

Meanwhile, after Shubman Gill’s half-century (56 off 34), there were scintillating knocks from David Miller (46 off 22), Abhinav Manohar (42 off 21), and Rahul Tewatia (20 off 5) that helped Gujarat Titans’ total to 207/6 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians have lost their captain and opener Rohit Sharma early in the chase, caught and bowled by Hardik Pandya, and are dented early. The onus is on youngsters Cameron Green and Ishan Kishan to take the innings forward.
