VIDEO: Mohammed Shami Knocks Over Devon Conway With A Jaffa

In the Match number 1 of the IPL 2023, Mohammed Shami floored Devon Conway’s off and middle stumps to take the first wicket of this year’s tournament.

The iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad, played host to the first game of the IPL 2023, between hosts and defending champions Gujarat Titans and the mighty Chennai Super Kings.

Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first in Ahmedabad.

Mohammed Shami bowled a tight, good first over, conceding only two runs. In his second over, the senior India pacer burst through the big bat-pad gap of Conway’s to uproot not one, but two stumps, sending the capacity crowd at the Narendra Modi stadium in raptures.

Bowling from around the wicket, creating an angle that has served him very well over the years against left-handers, Mohammed Shami sent down a length delivery. Conway played an expansive straight drive, but with little feet movement, and missed the ball that had nipped in slightly. The stumps were on the ground as the New Zealand batter looked back and Shami was up in celebration of his 100th IPL wicket.
