Sourav Ganguly has hit back at the fans of Virat Kohli who had been “twisting” his earlier tweet on Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill following the centuries from both the players in the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans which the latter won courtesy of a stunning century from Gill that trumped up that by Kohli.

That victory by Gujarat also knocked out RCB from the playoff race and propelled Mumbai Indians in the playoffs.

After that match Ganguly, the ex-BCCI President who had major issues and a tussle with Virat Kohli when he was the India captain, had tweeted: “What talent this country produces .. shubman gill .. wow .. two stunning knocks in two halves .. IPL.. .. what standards in the tournament.”

While Ganguly didn’t mention Virat Kohli explicitly in his praise, he did mention “two stunning knocks in two halves” of the match hailing both Kohli and Shubman Gill for their respective hundreds.

Since Ganguly didn’t mention Kohli’s name, Kohli and RCB fans attacked him for being “petty” and “jealous”.

After seeing the reactions of fans on Twitter, and unable to grasp their backlash, Ganguly wrote another tweet, this time, in a strict tone, slamming those who couldn’t understand his tweet!

“Just a quick reminder .. hope those of you twisting this tweet, understand English .. if don’t please get someone responsible to explain,” the former BCCI President wrote.

Here is Sourav Ganguly’s clarification tweet for Virat Kohli’s fans:

Meanwhile, Kohli has left for London to begin his preparation for the WTC Final, which will played in a couple of weeks’ time against Australia at the Oval. Kohli had looked in great touch during the IPL, finishing with 639 runs which included 2 hundreds and 6 fifties.

Shubman Gill is also in superb form, and is the second highest run-scorer, only 8 runs behind Faf du Plessis who bowed out with 730 runs.
