Well, IPL 2023 final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans which was originally scheduled to take place on 28 May, had to be moved to reserve day. While the fans waited patiently for the game to start when it stopped raining at some point in time, the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) ground staff tried their best to make the ground ready as soon as possible. The groundsmen at work made every possible effort to ensure that the pitch and the field get dried up for the match to resume.

However, more than their efforts fans felt bad for the types of equipment they were using to dry the pitch. The GCA ground staff was seen using sponges to soak the water on the pitch at Narendra Modi Stadium.
