ICC ODI Player Rankings: AB de Villiers still dominating; Virat Kohli drops down to No.4

There has been plenty of reshuffle in the latest Reliance ICC ODI Player Rankings following 23 pool stages matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

Kumar Sangakkara, who has aleady scored two hundreds in just 4 matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, is the highest run-scorer in the tournament with 268 runs. South Africa captain AB de Villiers is the No. 1 batsman in the latest ICC ODI Players Rankings. de Villiers, who scored the fastest 150 in ODI cricket in the pool game against West Indies, leads Kumar Sangakkara and Hashim Amla by 49 rating points and continues to dominate the batting charts. AB de Villiers, with 217 runs, is sixth in the list of leading run-scorers in the tournament to date and is just two rating points short of becoming only the 11th batsman to break the 900-point barrier since the introduction of the current ODI player rankings system.

India’s Virat Kohli has dropped down to the No.4 position in the rankings. Kohli has been in good form in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Kohli has scored 186 runs in 3 matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 and he is No. 10 in the list of highest run-scorers of the tournament.

Other batsmen to head in the right direction are Australia’s Aaron Finch who has climbed up four places in the list, Pakistan’s Misbah-ul-Haq is up by two places, India’s Suresh Raina is up by four places, Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene is up by four places and Zimbabwe’s Brendan Taylor is up by three places.

The biggest surprise in the ODI Player Rankings is UAE’s Shaiman Anwar, who is the seventh leading run-scorer to date in the ICC Cricket World Cup with 208 runs, is in 99th spot after rocketing 93 places.
