Fans Troll PCB For Sending Security Checking Officials To India For World Cup 2023

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the ruling Pakistani government are learned to soon send a delegation to India to check up on the security concerns in India ahead of the World Cup 2023.

In the WC 2023, in October-November, Pakistan will play their 9 league phase matches in five different cities: Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata. The big clash against India will take place on October 15 in Ahmedabad. If Pakistan reaches the semi-final, it will be in Kolkata and the final is slated for Ahmedabad on November 19.

Pakistan is set to send a security delegation to India for inspecting the venues before giving clearance for the national team’s travel to India, as reported by TOI.

“The security delegation will go with representation from the PCB to inspect the venues where Pakistan will play and also the security and other arrangements made for them in the World Cup,” a PCB official said. The Pakistan Cricket Board source added that the delegation will visit all five venues where Pakistan are scheduled to play to inspect the security.

“Before any tour to India it is standard practice for the cricket board to seek permission from the government which normally sends a delegation to India,” the official said.

“The delegation will interact with the officials there and discuss and inspect with them the security and other arrangements for our players, officials, fans and media, who will go for the tournament,” he said. “The Pakistan Cricket Board will share the report with the ICC and BCCI if the delegation has any concerns,” he added.

Pakistan cricket team last toured India in 2016 for the T20 World Cup. Then, the India-Pakistan matches from Dharamshala was shifted to Kolkata after the delegation’s security concern.

This news created a bit of laugher among fans because Pakistan s is the country where cricket had been halted for a decade due to security issues.
