India and West Indies will kick-start their journey in the 2023/25 WTC cycle on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, with a two-Test match series in West Indies.

While India are the number 1 ranked ICC Test team, West Indies are sitting at the 8th position. However, West Indies are a potent force in their home conditions with their fast bowlers having had plenty of success in recent years. Further, because of injuries and rest to some key players, India are not at their best in this squad, even though they will start as favorites against Kraigg Brathwaite’s team in this 2-Test rubber.

India are coming off  a loss in the WTC 2023 Final to Australia, and in West Indies, they will kick-start their transition phase with Cheteshwar Pujara replaced by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who will open alongside skipper Rohit Sharma while Shubman Gill will move to number 3.
