Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is hailed as greatest cricketer to have played the game from India. He announced his retirement from international cricket in 2008, after having appeared in a total of 113 Tests and scored 7,212 runs as well, appeared in 311 ODIs amassing 11,363 runs for India.

Meanwhile, an old video of Sourav Ganguly has resurfaced on the internet where he named his all-time XI on the Lord’s Cricket YouTube channel. The video is a few years old but has resurfaced on the internet and is going viral. Fans are not happy with the fact that Ganguly has ignored Virat Kohli.

Yes, Ganguly hasn’t picked Virat Kohli in his all-time XI, which comprises four Australians, two Sri Lankans, two South Africans and one England cricketer, and only two Indian players.

Sachin Tendulkar

Ganguly has picked Australia’s Matthew Hayden and England’s Alastair Cook as openers for his playing XI. In the middle, Ganguly has picked ever-so-dependable Rahul Dravid, followed by Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis, Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara and legendary Australian captain Ricky Ponting.

Further, Ganguly picked Jacques Kallis as his all-arounder. Kumar Sangakkara as the wicketkeeper.

Sourav Ganguly said that he has picked the South African speedster Dale Styen as his second fast-bowling option because of his amazing quality of bowling and his wicket-taking ability. Besides him, he has also picked Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan.

Sourav Ganguly’s all-time XI:

Matthew Hayden (Australia), Alastair Cook (England), Rahul Dravid (India), Sachin Tendulkar (India), Jacques Kallis (South Africa), Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka – wicketkeeper), Ricky Ponting (Australia – captain), Glenn McGrath (Australia), Dale Steyn (South Africa), Shane Warne (Australia), Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka)
