A good news for the fans of Sanju Samson is that the injured cricketer is going smoothly on his way to recovery and he could even return to action sooner than anticipated earlier.
The 28-year-old Sanju Samson last took the field f,or India in the first T20I against Sri Lanka on January 3, 2023. In that match, Samson injured his knee while fielding and was ruled out from the remainder of the two T20I vs Sri Lanka, followed by the 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against New Zealand too.
This has certainly hurt Sanju Samson’s career as after a long time, it seemed that he will get a consistent run in the national T20I team. But his injury came at a really wrong time. In Samson’s absence, Rahul Tripathi made an impact by smashing 35 runs in 16 balls against Sri Lanka and he is likely to start against New Zealand.
Sanju Samson has since been rehabilitated at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. The Kerala and Rajasthan Royals skipper, Sanju Samson, recently was seen sprinting at the NCA fields, the video of which has gone viral and is a breath of freshness for his fans.
Sanju Samson can be seen running hard and with full energy in this video, suggesting that the 28-year-old is nearing full fitness, and could be back in action soon.
Here is the video of Sanju Samson sprinting at the NCA:

Despite this optimistic video and his swift recovery, Samson will not be called up so soon for the ongoing New Zealand T20I series, which starts on Friday in Ranchi. This means that Sanju Samson will return straight in the IPL 2023, where he will be leading Rajasthan Royals again.
In 2022, it felt like Sanju Samson was coming of age, as he performed superbly: in 5 T20Is innings, he had an average of 44, and more importantly, a strike rate of 158. In 9 ODI knocks in 2022, Sanju Samson averaged 71 at a strike rate of 105 – superb numbers for a middle-order batter.
